Abstract

 The present study attempts to analyse the research output of science departments (n=22) of Visva-Bharati university during the last 21years (2000- 2020) as reflected in the Web of Science (WoS) database and identifies 4016 number of articles. The study examines the growth rate of publications, citation impact, collaboration trend at different levels, department wise publication, preferred source journals, identification of productive authors and tried to apply of the 80-20 ruleof publication. Fluctuating trend of publication has been observed in the overall publications productivity with a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 13.42 percent. Over 90 percent of articles have received citations,out of which the international collaborative publicationshave cited maximum. The Journal of High Energy Physicsand Journal of Instrumentationhave been found as the most preferred and most cited journal respectively.
